Synopsis Aired from 1966 to 1971 on ABC-TV, "Dark Shadows," the gothic soap opera, featuring the guilt-ridden 175-year-old vampire Barnabas Collins, became one of the most popular series on daytime television.
When a drifter named Willie Loomis accidentally releases Barnabas from his chained-up coffin, the vampire makes his appearance at the Collinwood estate posing as a cousin from England. Although everyone notices Barnabas's resemblance to his 18th century ancestor, no one fathoms that the English relative who takes up residence in the Old House is actually the Barnabas Collins from 200 years ago.
