Recorded at Master Sound Studios, Virginia Beach, Virginia. DA REAL WORLD was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. With her debut album, Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott proved that she could do it all--rap, write, sing, and produce. With her sophomore album, DA REAL WORLD, Elliott shows that she can do it again--and do it all just as well. Her singing talent adds R&B flavor to a great, bouncy hip-hop album. Elliott describes herself on the lead-off single, "She's A B*tch." She uses the term "bitch" in a positive way, redefining it as a strong woman who knows what she wants. The mellower "All N My Grill" boasts an empowered chorus of "why you all in my grill / can you pay my bills?" It is sure to be the next anthem adopted by Elliott's sisters. Backed by super-producer Timbaland, Elliott delivers the beats and rhymes like no other rapper. DA REAL WORLD also finds Elliott teaming up with some of hip-hop's most unique performers, including Eminem, Redman, and Juvenile.
