This 1991 follow-up to the well-received INDESCRIBABLE WOW takes a confident step forward in the direction of more adventurous and varied songwriting, more exotic and curlicued production (courtesy of Sam Phillips's then-husband T-Bone Burnett), and a newly languid vocal freedom. Standout tracks include the explosive "Lying," the quirky title track, and the Byrdsian "Raised on Promises."
