Movie Description An unhappily married man, depressed because his wife thinks he's gay, finds solace and understanding in the arms of a worldly businessman.
Synopsis Though billed as the first gay movie from Russia, "Creation of Adam" works more as a disturbing religious allegory with homoerotic undertones. The film centers on Andrei, a designer whose marriage is collapsing because his wife thinks he's homosexual. When he helps a young gay man escape from a violent attack, it only intensifies her suspicions. Andrei's confused depression takes a turn for the better when he meets a handsome but enigmatic businessman who vows to change his life. The mysterious man leads Andrey on a series of mystical adventures, explaining to him that, "I have come to teach you one thing... to love."
Film Notes Additional cast: Saulis Balandis, Sergei Vinogradov, Irina Melitskaya, and Anzhelika Nevolina
Additional crew: Andzhela Sapunova (Costumes), Alexander Bershadsky (Sound)
