Movie Description Michael Winterbottom directs the premiere episode of the highly regarded CRACKER MYSTERY series, starring Robbie Coltrane as Dr. Eddie "Fitz" Fitzgerald, a highly intelligent and volatile forensic psychologist with a penchant for alcohol and gambling. While Fitz's bad habits may interfere with his private life, they do not stop him from outsmarting the cleverest criminals in Britain. This time around, Fitz finds himself caught up in the middle of a messy ordeal when a woman's brutally murdered body is found on a train and the prime suspect claims amnesia. It is up to Fitz to figure out if the man is guilty of the heinous crime, or if he actually is innocent, as the suspect so passionately professes. As the boozing, hardheaded investigator, Coltrane jumps into his role with great fervor, establishing a character that is at once funny, troubled, and never less than passionate.
