Synopsis Celebrated children's author Jon Scieszka and inventive illustrator Lane Smith have created another pair of friends for the picture book audiences, but with a twist. Octopus and Cowboy have been cut from very different papers, a comic book and a paper doll set respectively. Together, the two forge a funky little friendship, starting with an errant see-saw and moving on through several small stories. Smith's quirky illustrations combine wonderfully with Scieszka's spot-on text.

Industry Reviews "Move over, Laurel and Hardy, Calvin and Hobbes, macaroni and cheese. There's a new twosome in town...[The] seven vignettes...are simply told, surprisingly fresh, and genuinely funny--with Smith's artfully weathered mixed-media orchestrations pushing the humor level up and up and up."
