Album Notes
While there's certainly a proud tradition of British Metal, much of it lies in the past. Judas Priest and Iron Maiden may have been the vanguard of the once-thriving Brit metal institution, but you rarely hear much about contemporary thrash coming from across the pond, especially the kind of athletic, blistering metalcore played by Sheffield's Bring Me the Horizon. Mixing guttural screams with death-metal growls, the vocals ride a careening wave of classic speed-metal guitar and helicopter-blade drum rolls. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS displays the young band's increasing skill with manic time shifts and nimble electric solos. If there was any doubt that the land of Black Sabbath could still produce metal worth hearing, Bring Me the Horizon handily eliminate it.

Industry Reviews
3 stars out of 5 -- [The album] grinds along like an unholy conflagration of technical '80s death metal and jackhammer hardcore.
