Album Notes Most folks know the duo Crystal Method best as a genre-blending duo famed for mating electronica with pop, rock, and hip-hop. Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan have always presented themselves as a band, rather than a transient electronic "project." Nevertheless, the pair apparently couldn't resist using their dancefloor smarts to create their first remix album, COMMUNITY SERVICE. Here they incorporate tracks by everyone from fellow electronica maven Orbital (Plump DJ's mix of "Funny Break [One is Enough]") to rap-rockers P.O.D. and Rage Against the Machine and pop-rock mainstays Garbage. Whatever style they step into in the service of their in-the-mix mania though, Kirkland and Jordan keep things eminently danceable, whether they're funking up the hard-as-nails sound of RATM or enveloping Garbage singer Shirley Manson in a web of electronic atmosphere.
