Album Notes New Found Glory: Jordan Pundik (vocals); Steve Klein, Chad Gilbert (guitar); Ian Grushka (bass guitar); Cyrus Bolooki (drums). On 2006's COMING HOME, the Florida-based punk-pop ensemble New Found Glory offers up an assured and refreshingly mature album. Emotional without being "emo" and amped up without being abrasive, the group excels at wonderfully catchy, hard-charging anthems that poignantly capture the transition from teenage years to young adulthood. Stand-out tracks include the yearning, romantic "Oxygen" and the restless "It's Not Your Fault," one of a handful of songs to feature veteran pianist Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers). With Blink 182 disbanded, New Found Glory finds itself near the top of the punk-pop pile on COMING HOME, a straightforward rock record unafraid to be earnest and affecting.
Industry Reviews Included in Alternative Press's 10 Essential Albums Of 2006.
HOME is bound to fill any pop-punk void, launching with the excellent 'Oxygen,' which boasts stuttering rhythms and full-bodied guitars.
NFG's guitar hooks are still brimming with adolescent energy. These guys could write a hyperactive anthem about collection Social Security checks. -- Grade: B
