Movie Description Robert Smigel's TV Funhouse cartoons on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE were always something to look forward to--and always too short. With this short-lived Comedy Central series, Smigel let loose his wild imagination for a half hour of inspired madness. TV FUNHOUSE is a children's show from another dimension, hosted by Doug and his Anipals (a mix of trash-talking puppets and confused live animals), with each themed episode lodging an irreverent mix of live-action and animated segments. The cast of characters includes Mischievous Mitchell, a Dennis the Menace lookalike who gets in all sorts of racist hijinks, and Wonderman, a superhero whose true mission is to get his alter-ego laid. Appearances by Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Hootie and the Blowfish, and Robert Goulet add plenty of weird moments to this truly twisted variety show.
Industry Reviews "COMEDY CENTRAL'S TV FUNHOUSE was blasphemous, bawdy and brilliant as it combined low-tech puppetry, animated pop-culture satire and puerile humor into half-hours of jaw-dropping bad taste." New York Times - New York Times Critic (09/12/2008)
