Industry Reviews "What one feels at the end is the appropriateness of Williams himself, doctor listener and story-teller, a man who has found pleasure and fulfillment in useful work. For the present moment in American experience there could hardly be a more vital or disturbing image" New Republic - Irving Howe
"So these 50-odd stories are among the most precious possessions of the 20th century in any language. And when they come to ask, 'What were they like?' we can say, 'This is us.'" Rexroth
