Album Notes This is an example of the Southern Rap Screwed style. Producers: Salih, Double D, Noke D., Blue. This is an example of the Southern Rap "screwed" mix style. The hip-hop world is a mercurial one, where rappers rise up from the underground seemingly every other week, making a huge national splash. Unlike the rock scene, you don't have to have a billion-dollar major label behind you in order to achieve mainstream success. Such is the case with hip-hop underdog Big Moe, whose debut on the small-but-hip Wreckshop label has risen from the underground to bite the public on the posterior. The album is full of carefully crafted beats, hard-hitting raps full of uncensored urban reality and adept lyricism, and simple, insistent hooks. Big Moe may not have arrived on the red carpet of Dr. Dre a la Eminem (or Warren G before him), but that doesn't make CITY OF SYRUP any less valid.
Industry Reviews [H]e has the voice of an angel, powerful and rousing, but also capable of astonishing delicacy.
