Though the four Yule-themed songs on this compilation of live and studio recordings from the 1920s to the '60s give it its title, the inclusion of "Gone Fishin'," Louis Armstrong's relaxed duet with Bing Crosby, and in-concert versions of the trumpeter's hits "Hello Dolly" and "What a Wonderful World," among other anomalies, mean it's not a Christmas album in anything but the vaguest sense. But the '20s Dixieland recording of "Santa Claus Blues" and Satch's recitation of "The Night Before Christmas," are wonderful, nonetheless.
