Focusing on the early years of the New Orleans-based label, the collection 10 YEARS OF BLING VOL. 1 brings together a slew of late-1990s and early -2000s recordings from Lil Wayne, B.G., and Big Tymers. Much of the sonic cohesion comes courtesy of the beatwork from superproducer Mannie Fresh whose combination of zooming synthesizers and frenetic, rapid-fire drum tracks provided a foundation for the blossoming Nawlins hip-hop movement.
