Industry Reviews Von Pressentin Wright, who has previously contributed to this well-known series with the Blue Guide: New York (LJ 6/1/83), offers a new guide to help New York City visitors find a museum match for their personal interests. She also includes zoos and gardens. Entries vary in length (more than 60 pages are devoted to the highlights of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, less than half a page for many lesser-known museums) and include information on opening hours, eating facilities, and wheelchair access. Museums are arranged in general geographic categories, then listed alphabetically. Subject and museum name indexes are included, as well as maps and floor plans (not seen) for several of the larger institutions. Primarily a reference book, this is useful but not meant for armchair travelers. It may fill a gap in larger public and academic libraries that do not have the Official Museum Directory. Linda M.
