Movie Description Two used car dealers are quickly losing their business to debt and their unit-moving competitor, Mr. Woo, when they are offered $250,000 simply to keep a car on their lot. The car, a Pontiac Le Mans, has been traced by the FBI from South America to California and has seen a lot of people die. Incidentally, there is also a bomb in the trunk. Joe Carnahan's (NARC) 1998 Tarantino-inspired debut was made in three weeks for less than $8,000.
Film Notes DVD Features:
Region 1 Encoding Keep Case Theatrical Trailer
Industry Reviews "...An energy and style that's fresh and invigorating....[The dialogue] is fast, furious and fabulous..." Box Office - Simon O'Ryan (11/01/1998)
"...Carnahan sustains the dark humor and brutal attitude (heightened by slow-motion, hand-held camera angels, intertitles, a goofy lounge music soundtrack and more) right up to a twisted ending..." USA Today - Mike Clark (04/02/1999)
"...A hilarious black comedy....Fast-paced, edgy and imaginative....It's a highly diverting and fully realized entertainment..." Los Angeles Times - Kevin Thomas (04/09/1999)
"...There is real talent here. The most engaging aspect of the film is its spoken dialogue....Carnahan is nothing if not stylistically open-minded..." Chicago Sun-Times - Roger Ebert (04/09/1999)
