Synopsis
When a billionaire shopping-mall developer named Guy Kaffey gets shot to death in his home, a well-protected compound on 70 acres of land known as Coyote Ranch, it seems like it must be an inside job. Kaffey has certainly made an enemy or two on his climb to the top. Was this the brutal work of a jealous family member, like his brother Mace, or a well-planned robbery executed by one of his staff? L.A. police lieutenant Peter Decker gets assigned to the case, while his wife Rina is serving jury duty. Despite her seeming distance from the case, things get complicated enough to land Rina in danger and Decker hustling to catch the culprit. This is the 18th in Faye Kellerman's popular series.
