Details

Synopsis This collection of short stories is an adjunct to Kage Baker's series of Company novels about an all-powerful corporation that utilizes time travel and immortal cyborgs to collect and preserve valuable items in the past so that they can be "discovered" in the future. Included are hitherto unreported episodes from the very long lives of series characters such as Mendoza, Joseph, and Lewis, as well as the early history of Alec Checkerfield, who, although not immortal himself, has some decidedly peculiar abilities and seems to have a mysterious connection to the Company. An adaptation of the first Alec story, "Smart Alec," is part of the fifth Company novel, THE LIFE OF THE WORLD TO COME.
