Album Notes This collection, true to its name, takes listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of romance, offering several perspectives on the subject, courtesy of '70s and '80s hit ballads. The context makes for some interesting and unusual segues, both stylistic and thematic. The cold-eyed pragmatism of Meat Loaf's "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" leads into the prom-dance devotional declarations of The Commodores' "Still." Then we're led straight into the rough-and-tumble romanticism of Rod Stewart's timeless "Maggie May," a gorgeous, bittersweet rock ballad. The most poignant segue comes at the very end of BEST OF LOVE, when the bright-eyed, hopeful feel of Foreigner's gospel-tinged ballad "I Want To Know What Love Is" is followed directly by the soulful, broken-hearted Righteous Brothers classic "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."
