THE CORPSE VANISHES: Bela Lugosi is the evil Dr. Lorenz, a man who has invented a poisoned flower corsage to use on unsuspecting young brides to put them in a zombie-like state, abduct them, steal their blood, and inject it into his aging wife to keep her young forever. Dr. Lorenz's actions are headed off at the pass by Pat Hunter, an intelligent and beautiful reporter who knows what the sinister man is up to. But will she be his next victim?
THE DEVIL BAT: Bela Lugosi plays crazed scientist Dr. Paul Carruthers, who feels he has been treated horribly by the cosmetics companies and sets out to get his revenge in THE DEVIL BAT. To do this, he comes up with an ingenious--and very deadly--scheme: he trains bats to murder his enemies. Whenever the creatures smell the scent of a perfume he has created, they attack, and Dr. Carruthers makes sure that the targets of his wrath are covered in the fragrance.
THE HUMAN MONSTER is story based around the proprietor of a home for the blind who uses the residents as pawns in an elaborate murder scheme.
WHITE ZOMBIE: After arriving in Haiti to meet her fiance, a blushing bride-to-be is quickly transformed into a pallid, soulless body by creepy voodoo master Bela Lugosi, at the behest of a jealous rival who desires her. Made for $50,000 in 11 days in 1932, this interesting horror film relies more on visuals and atmosphere than dialogue, and remains one of Lugosi's best films from the classic era of horror.
