Movie Description
Champions in three weight classes vie for the Battlecade titles in this second martial arts-freestyle fighting event, held in Quebec April 26, 1996. Contenders include Ralph Gracie, Igor Zinoviev, John Lewis and Conan. Bonus footage shows event organizers pleading with government officials before the unsanctioned fight, and being arrested after the bouts.
Synopsis
From the sweep of roundhouse kicks to the crunch of snapping bones, "Battlecade: Extreme Fighting 2" delivers enough savage entertainment to rattle PC types the world over.
The intrepid participants in these matches defied both the American and Canadian governments to stage their gleefully sadistic bouts. Mixing martial arts and boxing with "freestyle fighting," warriors sweat, bleed and fall in round after round of this mortal combat. And viewers can relish all the political skirmishes that took place behind the scenes.
Happily barbarous audiences will cheer along with their rabid in-person counterparts who demanded their ringside seats to this unprecedented display of bloodsport.
