Condition: Like New Seller's Comments: Hugely hyped and merchandised, this was first movie in the Batman series which successfully fused director Tim Burton's Gothic funfair sensibility with creator Bob Kane's Caped Crusader. Surprisingly effective (and reverting to the comic-book's original revenge motifs), Michael Keaton plays angsty millionaire Bruce Wayne, who dons his cowl at night to battle evil in Gotham's sinister streets. This installment details the genesis and murderous rampage of Batman's acid-scarred and loonily-nihilistic nemesis, the Joker (Jack Nicholson). Kim Basinger provides the romantic interest; Anton Furst scooped an Oscar for his impressive sets; and Danny Elfman's score is darkly thunderous.
