Synopsis
Thanks to his hallucinatory prose and psychedelic plots, fans and critics of the criminally creative novelist Tom Robbins have long suspected that he probably ingested the occasional mind-altering substance. He celebrates one such concoction in this typically imaginative offering, an homage to America's favorite alcoholic beverage written in the style of a child's bedtime story. Once upon a time, a curious young girl named Gracie Perkel decided to find out for herself why her beloved Uncle Moe was so fond of beer. A boisterous beer fairy appeared and proceeded to educate Gracie and the readers about the wonderful world of hops and lager. Robbins taps into his usual keg of laughs, and also pours out a heady brew of intriguing beer knowledge guaranteed to impress the drunks at your local pub.
