Movie Description The vacationers at a winter wonderland struggle to survive after an avalanche of snow crashes into their ski resort. Their holiday then turns into a game of survival.
Synopsis Despite everyone's warnings, David Shelby builds a ski lodge where the threat of an avalanche constantly hovers. His insistence costs him the support of locals and his wife who, like her husband, is busy having an affair even as the lodge is unveiled.
A professional skier is the first avalanche victim, but his prowess on the slopes allows him to escape unscathed. Soon after, though, the mountain crumbles in the huge avalanche everyone was warned about, teaching Shelby a lesson he'll never forget.
Film Notes Director Corey Allen used archival footage of actual avalanches to fill in his own avalanche scenes, which explains why some of the footage in the film is scratched with age.
Lewis Teague directed and edited the avalanche sequences.
Shot in Metrocolor.
