Album Notes
From Michael Todd's movie starring David Niven, Cantinflas, Robert Newton and Shirley MacLaine.
Composed and conducted by Victor Young.
The sumptuous score to this lavish production, which featured many Hollywood stars in cameo roles and became one of the biggest grossing movies of the 1950s, reflects its international setting with a kaleidoscope of musical influences, including East Asian and Mexican folk-flavored pieces. Its composer, Victor Young, died of a heart attack soon after its completion but received a posthumous Oscar for his efforts.
