Album Notes The Drifters: Benny Nelson, [a.k.a Ben E. King] (lead tenor); Charles Thomas, Johnny Williams (tenor); Doc Green (baritone); Elsbeary Hobbs (bass). Producers include: Jerry Wexler, Jerry Lieber & Mike Stoller, Ahmet Ertegun, Bert Berns, Arif Mardin. Compilation producers: David Nathan, Gary Stewart, Bill Inglot. Recorded between 1959 and 1968, and between 1975 and 1980. Includes liner notes by David Nathan, rare photos, and commentary by Ben E. King. Ben E. King was an original member of The Crowns (who later became The Drifters). As the lead tenor for The Drifters, and as a star solo act for Atlantic Records, Ben E. King became one of the all-time great rhythm & blues vocalists.
