Movie Description
Based on Leo Tolstoy's tragic novel about a married woman in love with a handsome army officer. Choreographed by Plisetskaya to music by Rodion Shchedrin.
Film Notes
Filmed in the Soviet Union in 1974, it was shown at the San Francisco Film Festival in October, 1975 and released domestically in 1983.
Rodion Schedrin, the ballet's score composer, is the husband of ballerina Maya Plisetskaya.
