Synopsis
Rita Mae Brown has co-written more than 30 mysteries with her cat, Sneaky Pie Brown, but she is on her own in this unique memoir, as she shares the stories of some of the animals who have had a profound influence on her life. Brown fondly recalls the life lessons she learned from her first cat, Mickey, her first dog, Chaps, and, of course, Sneaky Pie. Brown is also a master fox hunter, though she stresses that the foxes she catches are never killed, and she poignantly rhapsodizes about the exhilarating connection she experiences with the horses and hounds with whom she shares her hobby.
