Movie Description Andy Kaufman's appearance on Burt Sugarman's THE MIDNIGHT SPECIAL gave the comedian a chance to showcase his incredible array of personalities and talents. Some of the better bits here include Andy explaining why he decided to start wrestling women, and why he calls himself the Intergender Wrestling Champion of the World, his version of "It's a Small World" with African percussion, and, of course, his Elvis impersonation. Also, there is some candid interview material where Andy discusses his childhood and early years as a performer, as well some of the psychology behind his unusual tactic of often antagonizing his audience. Kaufman and writer Bob Zmuda's Tony Clifton character performs only briefly here, but manages to upset more than a few members of the audience.
