Synopsis
Inspired by the nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle, Diddle," this picture book tells the story of what happened after the Dish ran away with the Spoon. Determined to bring the Dish and Spoon back home, the Cat, the Dog, and the Cow set off to find the runaways--and along the way encounter such familiar literary characters as Little Boy Blue and the Big Bad Wolf. Watercolor and colored pencil illustrations accompany the text., When Dish and Spoon run away, their nursery rhyme friends Cat, Cow, and Dog set out to rescue them in time for the next evening's reading of their rhyme.
