Movie Description
A special six-hour presentation of a popular PBS broadcast. This ambitious program studies the history of rail travel from its beginnings through the steam engine, the golden spike, and the hauling of freight and passengers all over the United States. Among the many railroad companies who are covered here include Norfolk and Western, the New York Central Railroad, and the Southern Pacific. This version includes many special presentations not previously available such as features on B&O, steam train wrecks, and Thomas Edison's steam engine contributions.
