Album Notes The Mills Brothers: Harry Mills, John Mills, Jr., Herbert Mills, Donald Mills (vocals). Recorded between February 18, 1942 and 1967. Includes liner notes by Joseph F. Laredo. The Mills Brothers were a unit of consummate artistry and integrity. This is evident in all 16 of these tracks, recorded between 1940 and 1958. The group's teamwork creates mellow and tight-knit harmonies, swinging in both slow and up-tempo melodies. "Glow Worm" is a witty ditty whose novelty is made for a group whose contagious sense of swing lifts their solid voices skyward. The Mills Brothers' style also fits snugly into the big band orchestration of the Latin-tinged "Say Si Si." "Cab Driver," the last of their chart hits, finds the remaining trio donning Western wear as they mistily, yet humorously, sing of their broken hearts.
