Album Notes This four-CD set collects six previously unavailable 1970s albums from the Jamaican-born jazz pianist Monty Alexander, covering a wide area of stylistic ground, from Stevie Wonder to Joaquin Rodrigo. He's backed by an eclectic roster of musicians, including the drummers Kenny Clare and Jeff Hamilton and the Jamaican guitarist Ernest Ranglin. As well as Rodrigo's atmospheric "Concerto D' Aranjuez," Alexander's skilful and listenable soul-jazz technique is highlighted on such covers as "You Are the Sunshine of My Life," "Feel Like Making Love," and a moody version of "People Make the World Go Round."
