Movie Description
In this appealing sequel to THE THIN MAN, Nick (William Powell) and Nora (Myrna Loy) return home to Nob Hill, San Francisco, from their detective adventures in New York to find a murder among their very own family. One murder leads to another, and the quick-quipping sleuths and their faithful dog, Asta, are soon buried under a wealth of conflicting clues. The Thin Man films remain one of the few detective series to successfully combine murder with comedy, and AFTER THE THIN MAN matches the quality of the original film step for step. With a nightclub figuring prominently into the plot, AFTER THE THIN MAN offers the added enticement of several songs, including "Smoke Dreams" and "Blow that Horn," while a young Jimmy Stewart turns up the charm and the laughs in a supporting role.
Synopsis
Wealthy amateur detectives Nick and Nora Charles return in this sequel to THE THIN MAN. This time they're out to solve a series of murders while ever engaging in bubbling repartee and champagne.
Film Notes
Second in the "Thin Man" series; the team went on to make several more, including "Shadow of the Thin Man," "The Thin Man Goes Home" and "Song of the Thin Man."
Because of the nightclub setting used in the film, there are a large number of songs included.
