Synopsis A lame boy from a very primitive nomadic tribe is abandoned by his family and, together with a girl stolen from another tribe, tries to survive a cruel winter., When their nomadic tribe moves on, a primitive family living in the wilderness of North America leaves their crippled son behind because they fear his lameness is a curse that could spread through their tribe. The boy, Shutok, faces a difficult, cold winter in the wilderness as he awaits his tribe's return in the spring. When Shutok manages to survive, his tribe is forced to reconsider their superstitious beliefs.
