Synopsis
In this memoir of a friendship, Joan Anderson, the author of A YEAR BY THE SEA and AN UNFINISHED MARRIAGE, provides more information about her search for peace and fulfillment on the shores of Cape Cod. Here she tells of her friendship with Joan Erikson, who was married to the psychoanalyst Erik Erikson, and had collaborated with him on several of his books. Anderson tells how her friendship with Erikson evolved, and how Erikson's positive approach to living life fully helped her through middle age. Anderson was able to return the favor when Erikson's husband died.
