Album Notes This is the second half of an album--a nice mix of studio and live recordings--originally released on vinyl as a double LP. It catches Walker at a point in his life when it was beginning to become obvious that certain lifestyle changes needed to be made, and the ambience is, as you might expect, suitably woozy and world weary. Several of the tracks are readings of poems memorializing Walker's Luckenbach mentor, Texas legend Hondo Crouch. There's also music here, of course. Highlights include an obviously heartfelt rendition of "Mr Bojangles" (recorded near the site of the jail that inspired the song) and a hilarious version of "Up Against the Wall Redneck," featuring (apparently toasted) guest star Willie Nelson misspelling the word "mother."
