Little yellow bird is sad because he lost a tail feather, while little white dog’s leash is terribly muddled. But soon, for them and two other creatures, things take a turn for the better. Accompanied by watercolor and ink illustrations, this is both a 2007 Kirkus Reviews Best Children’s Book and a School Library Journal Best Book. Henkes is also the author of KITTEN’S FIRST FULL MOON.
