Set in the same universe as BUBBLEGUM CRISIS, albeit in the years before that series took place, AD POLICE FILES is a much deeper and more serious look at some of the themes toyed with in the more humorous and action oriented BUBBLEGUM series. A four episode OAV series, this volume contains the first two episodes. In the first, AD Police rookie Leon McNichol and his partner Geena find that a defective Boomer, an android designed specifically for work, is reactivating "dead" Boomers, one of which has a vendetta against Leon. In the second episode, detective Ailis Kara finds that the solution to a string of murders may be held by a female executive who has undergone argumentation to get a leg up in the business world. As Ailis wonders at how similar we can be to machines, she uncovers a link between the murders and the augmentation procedures undergone by the female executive.
