Synopsis This graphic novel chronicles the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 A.D., in which a tiny and outmatched army (300 men) of Greek Spartans was vanquished by the Persians, led by Xerxes. The battle was important because, by distracting the mighty Persians in this inconsequential battle, the Greeks were able to recoup and win the larger one, which was for Greece itself.
