Album Notes The Moody Blues: Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, Graeme Edge. Producers: Tony Clarke, Pip Williams, Tony Visconti. Compilation producer: Bill Levenson. Includes liner notes by Joseph F. Laredo. Digitally remastered by Suha Gur (Universal Mastering East, Edison, New Jersey). Are all one-disc Moody Blues best-of albums created equal? No, some have more songs than others do. What's the deal with this one? It's a re-mastered version of the band's GREATEST HITS album, originally released in 1989, with the 11-song sequence re-shuffled. Is it worth hearing? If you're a Moody Blues fan, of course. All the big hits pre-dating the '90s are here, from the pioneering orchestral pomp of "Nights in White Satin," to the sweetly retro-romanticism of "Your Wildest Dreams." Even better, the re-mastered sound is if anything even lusher than you might remember. Not definitive, of course, but good value for the money.
