Album Notes Compilation producers: Susan Arnold, John Houlihan. In the romantic comedy 13 GOING ON 30, Jennifer Garner plays a teenager who makes a wish that places her in the body of her 30-year-old self. Since her character is a child of the 1980s, the movie's soundtrack is loaded with pop hits from that decade. This solid set of mostly love-themed songs includes Rick Springfield's lusty power-pop hit "Jessie's Girl," Madonna's smooth, devotional ode "Crazy for You," and Pat Benatar's punchy, attitude-laden "Love Is a Battlefield." Belinda Carlisle appears twice, both on her own (the synth-laden ballad "Mad About You") and with the Go-Go's (the bouncy, undeniably catchy "Head Over Heels"), while the quirkier sounds of the '80s are well represented by Talking Heads ("Burning Down the House") and Soft Cell ("Tainted Love"). Rounding out the collection and bringing things into the 21st century are tracks by indie-rocker-turned-popster Liz Phair, all-girl rock band Lillix, and Ingram Hill.
